Alleviate Food Poverty
Food on every table; the focus of the Perpetual Help Fund is the alleviation poverty, in particular food poverty. Those experiencing food poverty are unable to access an adequate amount of nutritious food. It is estimated that 8% of people living in the Midwest are struggling to overcome food poverty. All year round the Perpetual Help Fund works with local organisations to provide food to those in need. In particular, Midwest Simon’s Food Bank, the Free Dinners Trust and various local community centres offering community café and meals on wheels options. The Perpetual Help Fund is a founding member of the Limerick Food Partnership, which is co- chaired by Fr Seamus Enright of the Redemptorists and Professor Niamh Hourigan, of Mary Immaculate College.
